Karen and her husband Arlen Custer have worked with glass for over 30 years. They design unique fused glass jewelry, hair accessories, vases, dishes, clocks, mirrors, functional tables, and funky art pieces! Use of a saw and a combination of dichroic and other glass give them their unique look. Designs from elegant to wild. Enjoy creative, affordable art!

Karen is also the owner of The Artisan Market at 305 located in downtown Durham. In addition to being an artist, Karen is a speech language pathologist with the specialty of augmentative communication. When she is not working or making glass creations, Karen plays in a West African drum group.
